"Scrimgeour" is a Scottish clan name. It probably originated from a nickname meaning "skirmisher" (a version of "escrimeur" - Fr  "swordsman"), which is fitting for a bat-wielding Quidditch Beater.

Young, pimply conductor of Knight Bus whose accent is Cockney. During the Muggle-torture incident at the World Cup, Stan was in the woods trying to impress a Veela. (PA3, GF9)
"shunpike" - Eng. A "shunpike" is a side road used to avoid the toll on or the speed and traffic of a superhighway.

Sinistra
professor at Hogwarts, Astronomy department (witch?)
Sinistra is noted as dancing a two-step with Moody, so many have assumed that Sinistra is a witch. This reference cannot be seen as conclusive proof, however.

"sinistra" - Italian: "with the left hand"
"Sinistra" is the name of a magnitude 3.5 star in the constellation Ophiuchus, the Serpent Handler.
"Ophiuchus represented Aesculapius, the ancient healer, believed to be the ancestor of Hippocrates (born 460 BCE) the great physician of Cos, and Serpens was his symbol of healing. The serpent is the symbol for the poison (venom) that can both cure and kill, Ophiuchus controls it and uses it to heal. This same snake is found on the symbol of medicine worldwide, the staff of the god Mercury, the caduceus, and both these constellations are associated with it, the caduceus shows two snakes coiling around a central rod surmounted by two wings of the bird on top." Stump created the three divisions of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures: Being, Beast, and Spirit (FB) Stump was a very popular Minister of Magic (fw58).

Tilly and her family were credited with saving Muggle lives as well as wiping their memory afterwards. One Muggle, however, known as "Dodgy Dirk," is known to tell tales of a "dirty great flying lizard" that attacked him way back when. His story is not believed by other Muggles. Tilly now appears on a Famous Wizards card (number 77) (FB xvi, fw77)
