A "gargoyle" is a stone demon carved into the architecture of some old buildings. Goyle's name seems to be derived from this.

Gregory Goyle is a student at Hogwarts, in the same year as Harry Potter. Goyle is quite dense. He follows Draco Malfoy around and serves as something of a bodyguard for him.Goyle has short, bristly hair and long, gorilla-ish arms.

One of the Death Eaters was named Goyle; it seems likely that he is Gregory's father. He is apparently somewhat thick (physically and mentally) as well. (GF

distinguishing features: thickset and extremely mean, "almost as stupid as he [is] mean". Polyjuice Potion to turn someone into Goyle is the khaki color of a booger. (CS12)

interests: chuckling trollishly, smirking, laughing syncophantically, cracking knuckles, flexing muscles, sniggering stupidly, rubbing knuckles in a menacing way
