Bill Weasley
"...with a horrible great fang on it, really, Bill, what do they say at the bank?"
     -- Molly Weasley

Grown son of Arthur and Molly who currently works for Gringotts as a curse-breaker in Egypt. Bill has longish, bright red hair and an earring made from a fang. He is "cool," according to Harry, and he catches the eye of Fleur Delacour at Hogwarts.

Bill is slim and tall. He dresses in Muggle style for his age. Harry thought his clothes wouldn't have been out of place at a rock concert--except that his boots are made of dragon hide.

Bill has an easy-going charm. He treats his mother with respect, but holds his own when she wants to get rid of the earring or trim his hair a little bit with her wand. He is a capable wizard, and when there is trouble at the campground at the Quidditch World Cup, Bill rolls up his sleeves and wades into the fray in support of the Ministry wizards.

Bill completed his years at Hogwarts quite some time ago, but he has been there since. His last visit to Hogwarts before the Third Task of the Triwizard Tournament was five years earlier, which would be 1990. Ginny remembers Bill being at Hogwarts, which would mean that his last year was no longer (and probably less) than twelve years before the final showdown with Riddle in the Chamber of Secrets in the spring of 1993 (therefore 1981). In that case, Bill would have been at Hogwarts with James and Lily, although several years younger.
