Vitamin A /Carotenoid Deficiency Cell Changes

parakeratosis

Features include keratinizing squamous metaplasia, parakeratosis, and hyperkeratosis
These celluar changes are characteristic features of HPV and precursors to many squamous type cancers
They are also associated with Vitamin A /Carotenoid Deficiency
