Story
As a child, I always looked for bluebirds,
but unfortunately, during the severe
winters of the 1950's when I was born, many
of them had died. It wasn't until the
spring of 1991 on our property in Manchester,
MI (Irish Hills area) that I had the
opportunity to observe a pair in our front
yard rolling wildflower field. I followed
them with my camera and watched them through
my windows hoping to get a close
up view as they landed on our newly planted
pines or sought to catch an insect on
the daisies. From these memories
and photos, this painting was born.
