There are times when puppies remain with us beyond the traditional 8 weeks. This age is what most people assume is the perfect age for a puppy to go to its new home. But that is not necessarily the case. There are many advantages to introducing an older puppy into your home.
Here are just a few..............................
1. The puppy is on his/her way to being potty trained.
2. It is able to stay longer overnight in its crate.
3. It could have more, if not all of its vaccinations which would save you the expense.
4. More mentally ready for leash training.
5. Able to be taken to more public areas without worry of catching a virus.
6. Old enough to begin and actually learn new things in a puppy/obedience class.
