Michael has been involved in various aspects of music and drama ministry for over 17 years. He has a unique way of creating environments of worship where people are encouraged to walk closer with Jesus.

Raised in western Michigan, he grew up in the Lutheran Church. Through the testimony of his sister he came to know Christ personally his freshmen year in high school. After high school Michael attended school at CFNI (Christ for the Nations) in Dallas Texas were he was apart of "Signs of the Covenant" a traveling music ministry for the school. He also ministered in CFNI's street ministry drama troupe.

After CFNI Michael lived in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area where he was actively involved at Church on the Rock. It was at Church on the Rock were he met and got engaged to his future wife. Lynda and Michael were married in 1983. They started a drama troupe called Creative Light Drama Troupe that ministered on the streets of Dallas and local churches using music and drama as a tool to communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ. The drama troupe also, ministered at The Texas Stare Fair, the 1984 LA Olympics and helped plant a church in Kingston Jamaica.

In 1986 Michael received a call to be a youth pastor and worship leader in Howard City Michigan. In 1987 Michael went back to school at Ferris State University in Big Rapids Michigan working on a degree in Education. While going to school Michael was apart of a worship team in a local church in Big Rapids. After graduation in 1990 Michael taught computers for a community education program and stayed active participating in worship in his local church.
