Three rings and $45.00 were taken. The victims were former Berrien County judge Harry Laity and his wife, Francis. There were no injuries. The bench trial judge, Chester Byrns, was a 23-year close personal friend of the victims. Floyd has served 29 years of two life sentences. Floyd was denied parole again in 2002 and will not be eligible for another hearing until 2007. Judge Schofield denied Floyd a new trial based on new evidence. This case is currently under appeal.
