Day 1   Planting Day. May 14, 2006

 We had 200% of normal precipitation this year. I finally got around to planting my crop today.  Since the seed is ten years old (from our last crop), I planted three in each terra cotta container.  I'll keep you posted. Marianne

The top Image below is upland cotton (from 10-year-old seed) 62 days after planting.  The next Image is Pima, planted about 2 - 3 weeks later.  I planted 3 seeds per pot; two sprouted in each - I just couldn't bring myself to discard one of them.  Although they were planted a few weeks apart, both varieties sprouted squares at about the same time.  We went from one of the rainiest springs on record to a record-breaking 109 degrees yesterday.  Upland plants are more tasty than Pima to bugs, as you can clearly see.  Marianne
