After the frost, and when most of the leaves had fallen off of the plants, I cut the plants down and moved them into the basement and hung them over a pipe. At last count 40 opening in the basement. 
This is a crop that just keeps giving!

To date we have harvested about 70 cotton bolls, Think of what we would have if the squirrels hadn't eaten about half of the crop!

A half century ago, when I did this before, I must have pulled up the plants and thrown them away after the frost. If I had cut them down and put them somewhere I'm sure I would have had a bumper crop then too.

And they said it couldn't be done!
