The Baseball Bash pits the baseball teams from ND and Michigan in an annual road game in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A favorite with both alumni clubs and area residents, the game has enjoyed increasing attendance the past few years. The first meeting between the clubs was held in 1995 with 6000 fans in attendance. The teams have met annually thereafter except in 1996 due to a scheduling conflict.
In addition to the fun of a midwestern rivalry on the diamond, the game's proceeds (ticket sales, sponsors and program/souvenir sales) goes to the alumni clubs of both schools for the respective scholarship funds. Gate collection of canned goods also benefits God's Kitchen, an area central city food provider to the poor and homeless.
