The pictures on this page are all
from April 26th 2006. About 3 years after
they were put up. The treated
wood has held up well.
Four main brace support the deck.
Each is attached to the tree with a 10 inch lag screw and a 8 inch lag
screw. 8x1 inch bolts
hold the brace joints together.
Three bolts are used for this. The top picture shows a side view
of the brace. The bottom pic is looking at the brace turned 90 degrees
head-on.
2x4's were used to complete flooring
of the deck. Using 2x4's for the flooring was an important part
in making the deck super strong.
